Reach exciting new heights with a hot air ballooning flight over the Hunter Valley, Australia’s oldest wine region. Nothing compares to the feeling of taking off and soaring high above the ground as the rising sun lets you know the day is officially beginning.

Your hot air ballooning adventure takes place over the spectacular Hunter Valley region of New South Wales just 120 km north of Sydney. On the morning of your hot air balloon ride, you'll arrive bright and early and be taken through a safety briefing. Then your ballooning adventure really begins! You'll be in the air in no time; one moment you'll be just a few feet above the trees, and the next you'll be thousands of feet up looking down on the valley below. Enjoy the scenic views of the vineyards, mountain ranges and local wildlife as you float through the valley watching the sunrise.

Following your flight of approximately one hour, all passengers return to the Rydges Resort Hunter Valley where you'll enjoy a champagne breakfast to toast your flight.

  • Solid shoes as the ground is often unevenly covered with dew in the early morning

  • You must be able to stand up for the duration of the Hot Air Balloon Flight, which is approximately 45-60 minutes
  • Please advise of any medical condition that may preclude you from flying such as serious knee, hip or back problems, recent surgeries or broken bones
  • Hot Air Balloon flights take place at sunrise - the exact time of your Hot Air Balloon flight experience will vary based on the time of year and will be sent to you upon booking
  • Flights will be cancelled if the weather is not suitable to conduct a safe flight (including strong winds, rain, fog or an unstable atmosphere)
  • Flight status will be advised the afternoon before your scheduled flight

  • Maximum weight 130 kg
  • Minimum height 120 cm
  • You must be able to stand up for the duration of the Hot Air Balloon Flight, which is approximately 45-60 minutes
  • Please advise of any medical condition that may preclude you from flying such as serious knee, hip or back problems, recent surgeries or broken bones
  • Those more than 12 weeks pregnant cannot participate in ground activities relating to inflating and deflating the balloon and are not permitted to fly in the balloon
  • The minimum age for this experience is seven (Children must be accompanied by a participating adult)
Cancellation Policy
  • Change your booking up to 7 days before the start time of your experience
  • Changes are not permitted within 7 days of your experience
  • Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience
